Tracy Hamm Allen - Director of Alumni Relations

Tracy Hamm Allen is currently the Director of Mortuary Science & Alumni Relations at John A Gupton College. Tracy is originally from Linden, TN but moved to Nashville to attend John A. Gupton College in 1997.

After graduating from Gupton College in 1998, Tracy was employed by Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN. She later transferred to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Nashville where she worked various roles such as funeral director, embalmer, funeral home administrator and cemetery administrator. Her positions within the company became more diverse throughout the years leading to roles such as Market Administrator, Regional Administrator, and General Manager and eventually the role of Market General Manager. Tracy enjoyed the travel required for these roles that lead from Texas across the southeastern states to Georgia, including Tennessee and Florida. Tracy graduated from Trevecca University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2003 and she obtained her M.B.A. from Bethel University in June of 2011. In addition to being a licensed funeral director and embalmer, Tracy is also a Certified Crematory Operator through Cremation Association of North America (CANA). Tracy is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP). She is also a member of the Tennessee Funeral Director’s Association (TFDA), Tennessee Funeral Supply Sales Club (TFSSC), and a proud member of John A. Gupton College Alumni Association.

Tracy enjoys time with family and friends and loves her time on the lake.
Tracy and her husband Brandon live in Spring Hill, TN. with their two sweet furry friends, Mack and Macy.

Bobby W. Cook – Alumni Newsletter Editor

Bobby is originally from Nashville, TN and is the youngest child of James and Betty Sue Cook. After graduating from high school he began working as a directory assistance operator for South Central Bell (BellSouth/AT&T). During his 14 year career with the telephone company, he served many roles including instructor, Supervisor, and Network Manager. For a period of two years he worked as the liaison between the regulatory department and the public service commission and FCC, answering complaints and resolving issues for customers.

After nearly 25 years in the call center industry (including positions with CVS Caremark, Convergys and 15 years of leadership and management experience), Bobby decided it was time for a new career path. In January 2012 Bobby lost his father after a long illness and it was after having firsthand experience working with the funeral director who handled his father’s service that he knew his new career path would be in the funeral industry.

Bobby enrolled at John A. Gupton in the fall of 2012 and graduated in December 2013. During his time at John A. Gupton he was listed in the top 10% of his class during each semester. He won the TFDA scholarship, the Select independent trust scholarship, and was a finalist and scholarship recipient with the SCI scholarship program. Bobby started working for SCI immediately following graduation and served his apprenticeship at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton in Nashville, TN. After completing his apprenticeship he joined the staff at Anderson & Garrett in Joelton, TN.

Bobby lives in Portland, TN is married and has three daughters. His wife Lisa has been very supportive of his new career path. His daughters – Brittany, Walker, and Haley have also been very supportive and encouraging throughout his time back in school and starting a new career.
